Service & Volunteer Opportunities
Prescott Area Young Professionals is dedicated to connecting and impacting our community through service and volunteer opportunities with local organizations. Our members are passionate about seeing the greater Prescott area thrive and are proud to participate in efforts that make a real and lasting difference.
If you’re a member or just a friend of PAYP looking for service or volunteer opportunities, be sure to sign up to receive our emails and follow our Facebook page to learn about what we’re doing throughout the year.
We are proud to sponsor group volunteer opportunities twice annually in addition to PAYP’s own volunteer events: Party in the Pines in June–raising $25,000 for education in Yavapai County (volunteer here), and the Flying High Turkey Drive in November (volunteer here), collecting more than 500 turkeys and Thanksgiving meal fixins’ for local families in need.
Get PAYP involved with your worthy cause by submitting a request for volunteers from our membership base. Volunteer opportunities are selected by PAYP members in a collective vote. Deadlines for submission are below. Missed the submission deadline or didn’t get selected? Your event may still be promoted to our members by our marketing team, so please ALWAYS share the great work you are doing in our community!
A Message From Our Service And Volunteer Coordinator
We are incredibly proud of all the good work accomplished together for our community in 2018 and I am honored to serve alongside all of you. From volunteering for homeless veterans, to collecting more than 550 turkeys outside Fry’s at Thanksgiving, to collecting school supplies and care packages for homeless troops and household goods for victims of domestic violence… we touched lives and made a lasting impact. I can’t wait to see the difference we’ll make for our community in 2019!
This year we will sponsor quarterly volunteer opportunities in addition to the many donation drives we’ll hold in tandem with our After 5 social events (where we’ll ask you to bring a can or soup, bottle of laundry detergent, or roll of paper towels, etc. to our mixers to help a local cause). Two of these events will be chosen by you, our PAYP members. Local nonprofits are invited to submit their event requests that need volunteer support. Be sure to let your favorite organization know that we’re here to help by telling them about our NEW online volunteer request form below.
In June we’ll repeat our fabulous Party in the Pines event which raised a record-breaking $25,000 for the Prescott Unified School District Education Foundation. Mark your calendars for June 1 or sign up now to volunteer (and get free entry and tastings at the beer fest!). Last year we were fortunate to have the help of 80 volunteers. It’s an “all hands on deck” kind of event and we’re counting on you to help us make each year even better than the last.
Our service wouldn’t be complete without our second annual service event: the Flying High Turkey Drive on Monday, November 18. If you can pass out smiles and a slip of paper with food donation requests and say “thank you!” with enthusiasm, then you can help feed families in need this Thanksgiving holiday. Save the date for November 18 or sign up now and we’ll remind you later.
If you can’t show up, be sure to SHOUT IT OUT! We need help spreading the word about these good causes. Be sure to follow PAYP’s Facebook page, share posts about our service activities, and invite friends to volunteer with you (anyone can volunteer with PAYP, you don’t need to be a member to lend a helping hand).
Thanks for joining me in making a positive impact in the greater Prescott community this year! Your care and giving inspires me and all around you.
